You have a little strength

Seven churches are mentioned in the New Testament Book of Revelation. Only two, located in Smyrna and Philadelphia in Asia Minor, were spared criticism by Jesus Christ. Believers in Smyrna were steadfast in their faith despite severe persecution. Jesus tells them to be faithful until death and He will give them the crown of life. What did Philadelphia do to earn God’s favor? Start a Christian TV network? Sign a book deal? Hire a charismatic pastor? Jesus loved them because: 1) they had a little strength; 2) kept His word; 3) would not deny His name. The Philadelphians were flawed, weak, ordinary people. Perfect candidates to be ambassadors for Christ in a fallen world.
