Jesus stood still

Matthew 20:29-34 describes a remarkable encounter as Yeshua (Jesus) leaves Jericho in the final days of His earthly ministry. A great multitude swarms the Son of Man and His disciples as they turn toward Jerusalem. Yeshua stops when He hears a cry above the din. He looks at the two blind men shouting from the side of the road, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” Son of David is a messianic title. The blind men have 20/20 vision spiritually.

The Lord calls the men, asking what He can do for them. They ask Him to restore their sight, which He does by touching their eyes. Yeshua is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He won’t ignore a cry from those who believe and trust in Him. Yeshua stands still. We have His full attention.
