Salvation is His name

The LORD has made known His salvation – Psalm 98:2

The God of Israel introduces the Messiah by name in the verse above, centuries before He would appear on earth. The Hebrew word for salvation is yeshuah (phonetic spelling: yesh-oo’-aw). Yeshuah or Yeshua is the Hebrew name of Jesus Christ. The Hebrew word also represents deliverance, rescue, welfare and health. In other words, a beautiful expression of God’s mercy. The next verse reveals the impact of the Son’s ministry: “All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation (Yeshua) of our God.”
