Life and death
God gave His commandments twice, centuries apart, on the Biblical feast Shavuot (Pentecost). He wrote them on stone tablets in the Old Testament, and on the hearts of men in the New Testament. The response was mixed. Three thousand Israelites died at Mount Sinai after worshipping a golden calf. Three thousand were saved in Jerusalem by hearing and responding to the gospel preached by Yeshua’s disciples. Shavuot begins at sundown Thursday May 25. It ends at sundown Saturday May 27.
Shavuot occurs 50 days after Passover. It is the last of the spring Biblical feasts, which Yeshua fulfilled with His first coming. He will fulfill the fall feasts with His second coming.
