Did God forsake Jesus at the cross?

God expresses the fullness of His mercy at Passover. Yeshua (Jesus) was crucified on the Hebrew date Nisan 14, which starts at sundown today on the Hebrew calendar. When Yeshua cried from the cross “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” He was quoting the first verse of Psalm 22. Contrary to popular teaching the Son was not complaining to the Father. He did not feel abandoned. In rabbinic teaching when a Bible verse is quoted the entire text is implied. He was telling everyone within earshot He was the prophetic fulfillment of that Messianic psalm, which includes the crucifixion: “They pierced My hands and My feet.” Yeshua was trying to draw all men to Himself as He drew His last breaths. The invitation extended to the religious leaders who had conspired to kill Him. Yeshua was resurrected on Nisan 17.
